Bowl Game Hopes
No. 1 Oklahoma vs. No. 2 Florida: Do I root for the team that t.u. beat so they can say they should be the national championship or do I root for the Florida team that I don't like either?
No. 5 USC vs. No. 8 Penn State: Go Penn State!
No. 12 Cincinnati vs. No. 19 Virginia Tech: Ummm...don't know if I really care.
No. 4 Alabama vs. No. 6 Utah: Roll Tide Roll!!!
No. 3 t.u. (texas university) vs. No. 10 Ohio State: Go Buckeyes!
One thing though, where's Texas Tech? They're ranked seventh and not in a "big" bowl game. Now that's sad.

Since when is the Cotton Bowl not a "big" bowl game?

i think its the amount of money you get that makes it not a big bowl game anymore. 11 to 13 million for BCS (4.5 of that to schools, the rest to the conference). as opposed to 1.5 to 2.5 million for the Cotton Bowl

or even better, if ou beats florida. and after texas obliterates a highly undeserving osu team in the fiesta bowl. the AP will probably give texas the title. much like they gave it to usc when lsu beat ou a couple of years ago.

You root for OU!! I know it's hard to do in Texas. Some might say it's impossible.

Well, The Cotton Bowl played its last game at the old historic stadium. I know everything must change, but in many ways there is a level of sadness.

It is also quite inronic that the first real "star" of the Cotton Bowl game, and one of the NFL's all-time greats, Sammy Baugh, passed away just a couple of weeks ago.

It was only fitting that legendary broadcaster Pat Summerall was there to call the game.
